I made this little quilt as a baby shower gift for a lovely friend from our homeschooling community. I was originally planning to randomly arrange all the fabrics, but as the completed (unassembled) blocks from one color bin at a time
went onto the wall, I started to think it might be nice to arrange them in a more systematic fashion. I really love how the hue/value matrix came out. Very simple pattern, with simple "apple core" quilting lines in the background strips, but very striking I think. I'll definitely make this again.
Title: Warm Welcome (42.5" x 42.5")
Welcome to blog-land - I found you through Tom Burkholder (he and my husband are cousins).
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt, the colors, layout and expecially the simple "apple core" quilting. Do you do your own machine quilting?
I am also a fabric artist, it's a great stress reliever - better than therapy! I do a little blogging about my projects too.
I look forward to seeing more of your projects.
Thanks Carolyn! I do all of my own machine quilting on my Viking Topaz 30.
